Glitch Art POV
“glitch art” means visual glitches, it could be in a still or moving image. It is made by either “capturing” an image of a glitch as it randomly happens, or more often by someone changing their digital files, software to make these “errors.”people have posted a bunch of tutorials online explaining how to make glitch art. There are many different ways to making these glitches happen on demand, from physical changes to the software to direct changes of the digital files themselves.
Alberto, this response misses the point of our assignment. Please feel free to repost your response if you wish. While it appears that you have a basic understanding of what Briz defines as a glitch, your response lacks investigation of the political and culturally critical implications, both regarding databending and his discussion of copyright. To consider glitch as merely a way of making an image (as you mention the many online tutorials), you incorrectly emphasize it as a product-driven aesthetic as opposed to a politically engaged practice. Maybe take another view of the videos and post again, if you wish.
