I thought glitch art was super cool and interesting. I love seeing people use technology as a medium and this is just that. So much can be done with glitch that I never even thought about. The videos also helped me change the way I view the technology I am using. Thinking more about doing the “wrong” rather than just using apps the way the are “supposed to used. Thinking more about how the app functions etc. I never really knew the origin of files types and thinking about the roles they play politically is so cool. It’s hard to realize that pictures (supposed to show the facts) can distort the truth just like anything else can and I think that is really interesting.
The presentation on image composition was so fascinating. I think everything was so cool honestly. this presentation really changed the way I view photography as a medium and a art form. Especially in the political sense, with the photographers that used a dead child as prop. I wouldn’t ever think of doing that. Learning more the golden ratio and what looks the best has been super useful in the works I am creating and will continue to create.
It seems to me that the extreme lateness of these written assignments has also made lack thoroughness. In the future, be sure to cite specific examples from the referenced material to expand on and demonstrate your comprehension of them, as well as their connections to our assignments (Portrait GIF and Image Composite, respectively). Keeping up with our work, engaging with each assignment as we're working on it together in class, will help with your application of the resources, technical understanding, and overall performance in the class. I am excited to read that the topics have opened up some doors for you. Now show it in your work!
