  1. I think the strangeness of this poster design, such as the surreal vertical elongation of the background warehouse space, is quite unique and draws in my attention. The floating tube television does not seem out of place, strangely, even though it is not figured as being within the space of the image, rather more collaged or juxtaposed. If juxtaposition is the right design choice, however, it indicates a type of comparison being drawn, and as I investigate the provided information, I am left unclear about what is being compared or represented. Upon close examination, or prior experience with these figures, I can see that a character is repeated, and so I draw a conclusion that the television image is an example of what I will see if I watch this movie, and the figures below are a kind of stylized ad in-and-of-themselves for the actors in the movie. This brain twist, almost meta, hurts the legibility of the poster somewhat—it's unclear what this is all about and what the relationships are. As a piece of Photoshop work, however, I find it really captivating—the mashup of objects, colors and spaces gives me a lot to take in. Good decision to stamp out the figures at the left of the background image, but my attention is now drawn a bit too much to the business at the back corner of the room, pointed directly to by the central figure's elbow. Maybe a bit more stamping out would allow the viewer to relish the interesting silhouette at the right of the image. Nice experiments here, and strong technical work.
