Movie Poster - DJ

This project was a lot of fun and challenging. I struggled to find a theme that I wanted my poster to be but when I finally figured it out it was really cool to have a photoshoot and mess around with photoshop again. I will definitely say the most challenging parts was lining up the photo in the mirror and the ghost (mostly the ghost). For the mirror photo I erased the inside of the mirror and shrunk the photo as best as I could. For the ghost I traced a google image I had and colored it in with a deep red then turned the opacity down as best as I could.

  1. This really worked out! Good work to get the shadow to behave the way you needed—a perfect example of exploring the many ways that Photoshop can be wielded to achieve the same goal. You did well to diffuse the shadow into the wall as it recedes to the bottom of the composition; and to indicate perspectival space by skewing it in just the right way. Additionally, the trick of superimposing an image into a frame is not easy to pull off, as the image often looks dropped in. While it stands out a bit and could possibly use a bit more edge blurring, the illusion works. My only suggestion would be to integrate a bit more information into the design. Perhaps scaling down the whole relationship between your layers would allow you more space to indicate architecture, perspective, and even add more visual and symbolic information with more layers. That said, the design is well balanced and your tinkering is a great technical achievement.
