Movie Poster

  1. Is that a figure poking from behind the building? It certainly draws my eye, however it feels a bit indecisive. Possibly letting it protrude a bit more, or somehow integrating it into the visual reality of the building at that level (maybe shadowing, maybe indicating evidence of the figure on the other side also) would have the element sit more legibly within the space. Otherwise, I still think there are issues with the sharpness of the text layer: its darkness (density of pixels) and hard edge compete with the grey, soft-focus style of the rest of the poster. Perhaps using some of that negative space real estate to imply more depth would help to situate it, such as having the text angle perpectivally into the distance, or having it follow an important visual line, like the vertical building of the level horizon. In that the goggles are so integral to the messaging of the movie, perhaps they could be repeated, varied, or accentuated somehow, or at least sharpened to match the focus of the foreground figure? A lot of interesting variables here (I like the seemingly elongated vertical of the building and the extreme contrast on the foreground figure), it just needs a bit more unity. Introducing a but of color might help as well!
