Description of my Final Project, by Ben Adams
This final project that I have in mind is meant to be a short film, which is kind of an experimental video essay with .gifs in it. The concept though, is about how time is something that can feel pressuring, constricting, a shadow upon life, completely unavoidable. The .gifs I have found on the internet alongside original footage I plan to make will be my attempt at conveying this message. I will be using Adobe Premier to make this short film, and I hope the end results are what I plan them to be. There is no big real world issue I am trying to address with this, I just want to try and create something more existential. I cannot wait to see how this turns out, and once again, I hope it isn't crap.
This project idea feels like it needs voiceover to tie it together. If you were to script out a piece of writing, with a bit more structure than your Ad Analysis video essay (maybe more like your very strong Film essays?), I think the overwhelming feeling that you are trying to convey would be free to come through more easily. It might free you up, actually, to be more experimental and playful with your visuals, since the script would help to hold the concept together.
