Final project statement
A tutorial on how to create the fabled sandvitch. The video itself is a comedy sketch that seeks to parody the popular formula for youtube tutorials. The video will use 2d graphics, humor, and some Russian to highlight how and why youtube tutorials are fundamentally flawed. This shall all be done while maintaining the guise of pure comedy. The video will also be entertaining enough for a general audience who is unaware of the intention. While still accomplishing its goal of undermining the formula for tutorials.
Parody is a touchy, difficult task, and I'm looking forward to seeing how you are approaching it. To do it right, there must be a semblance of actual mimicry, meaning execution of the thing-itself, in order for it to be believable, almost mistakable for the "real,"—a sort of formula seduction that absorbs the viewer with false intention, only to subtly tip the viewer off as the piece progresses. This subtlety might be achieved through exaggeration, making things gradually feel "hyperreal," thereby inserting a new meta meaning into our minds, while strangely still achieving the original form that is being parodied. Looking forward to seeing your twists!
